We have launched the Coalfields Emergency Response Fund looking for organisation within coalfields areas that are providing essential services within their communities to apply for a grant of between £100.00 – £1,000.00 with a maximum of £1000 per village / town.

Applications are welcomed from voluntary and community organisations, registered charities and Community Councils. The details can be found on our web page.

Just a few examples of what may be funded include:

  • Fuel costs for volunteers to carry out specific duties relating to the service being provided
  • Physical Activity/Craft packs for children
  • Publicity costs, flyers etc.
  • Cleaning essentials

We have also been working in partnership with Glasgow Caring City and Soapaid to deliver essential hygiene packages of soap to our communities, with over 10,000 bars being sent to Coalfield communities in the first round of deliveries. Again some details of this can be seen here.

We also had a column piece in The Scotsman on Sunday , the link is here.
